Ted Little

Sen. Ted Little voted to ban the highly questionable practice of “pass-through” appropriations, a way for politicians to reward their cronies. And because funding of political campaigns has become a sophisticated shell game, Sen. Little voted to stop special interest groups from hiding the donors who finance their activities. For the same reason, he voted to ban PAC-to-PAC transfers, another way special interests try to buy influence in Montgomery.

And that's not all. Sen. Little voted against giving a big pay raise to statewide elected officials when SB 489 would have done so. When the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that governments could seize private property for specific reasons, Sen. Little voted to protect Alabamians’ property from seizure.

Sen. Little also voted to ease the tax burden on thousands of Alabamians by raising the threshold of their taxable income. And he voted to create the new sales tax holiday benefiting both shoppers and businesses. What's more, Sen. Little’s votes helped assure that interest from the Alabama College Education Savings Program is tax-exempt, a boon to parents and their college-age students.

As if all that were not enough, Sen. Little this year voted to increase weekly unemployment benefits because he understands that even the hardest-working person sometimes falls on hard times. Sen. Little has effectively represented all of his constituents, and he wants to continue to be responsive, efficient and effective.
